Online Gaming-"Another E Business Success"

"Online Gaming" industry is one the e businesses which are growing rapidly. Those days were gone when Internet is used only for searching webs, doing shopping online, music, software, these days internet captured one more businesses i.e. Online Gaming.
The growing popularity of Java and Flash led to the better user interactivity, better audio and video quality. One can choose online among a wide range of games like, Arcade, Action, Combat, Adventure, Sports etc and 3D games always remain favourites for everyone and one can play singles as well as multiplayers. Now a days, the graphics are much fancy and orignal, that drives the users to the online gaming.

Now a days, consoles are becoming like computers and one can even play some console games online. “Episodic” gaming, in which new add-ons for console games can be downloaded for a fee, is gaining ground which is driving the popularity of X-Box, Play Stations etc. And there are many “casual” online games, often web-based versions of board and card games. According to PricewaterhouseCoopers, in 2009, all these online offerings are expected to account for just $9.4 billion of the $55 billion market for video games.

Online gaming has benifits to both users as well as manufacturers. It takes few months to develop a game for the gaming companies and the games can be further improved even after the months of its launch. The cost of advertising or promotion is also not too much as social networking is the strategy which the comapnies are following for its marketing purposes.
Users can take advantage of evolutionary improvements in games, rather than having to go out and buy new ones. And publishers no longer have to worry about piracy, as their games live in the cloud rather than on a disc that can be copied.

"Impact of Recession on Online Gaming Industry":

According to the NPD group, a market research firm, In America, the industry’s biggest market, sales of games were down 12% in the first nine months of the year compared with the same period in 2008. Online gaming industry did not face the brunt of recession as many has expected. However the sales of high cost consoles have fallen drastically.

In Japan, according to comScore, Inc, in July 2009, Japan recorded more than 16.5 million online gamer population which is nearly one fourth of the Japan's online population. The numbers of online gamer population is increased by 28 percent as compared to the last year.
Yahoo! Games led the category with 4.8 million visitors, up 13 percent from the previous year. Hangame.co.jp captured the #2 spot with 3 million visitors, followed by Wazap.com with 2.5 million visitors (up 42 percent). Gamespot Inc. (up 37 percent) and Goo Games (up 77 percent) also witnessed significant growth.

Such E-businesses are really proved to be successful which led to the growth of industries as such in this case of online gaming.

In this age of information technology where we are witnessing a large amount of innovations in this sector, which drives the system of online eductaion. Through e learning, the eductaion can be spread to the masses no matter whether one wants to do a degree in the any field from any country. Like being in India, one can gain an online eductation from any American Universities.

"Every student has their own way of learning that works best for them. Some learn visually others do better when they learn by doing."

In the online eductaion, the students do not have access to the classrooms rather than all the lectures has been delivered online. Students have the access to the course material 24 hours, 7days a week. Students can attend the courses anytime, from anywhere. Online course development allows for a broad spectrum of content. Students can access the school's library from their PC's for research articles, ebook content and other material without worries that the material is already "checked out."

Distance and e-learning programs are becoming more and more vital in the world of higher education. Through the use of new technological resources, e-learning programs make it possible for more people to reach their educational goals. The United States Distance Learning Association says, "distance learning encompasses all technologies and supports the pursuit of life long learning for all."

This kind of freedom and flexibility fits many people perfectly, but others - especially younger students - may crave the structure of traditional campus learning. "Online Education Industry - A Boom During Recession"

As the global world is facing difficult times due to the present meltdown in the economies, one industry which is facing boom and running in the oppsite direction to this negative impact is online education industry. Various investments can be seen from the companies for developing online academic as well as job training courses with the innovating ways.
According to Paul Freedman, an education serial entrepreneur, "This is undoubtedly the worst period in venture financing since the creation of the asset class, but I think education is one of the holdouts. One of the things people do when they can’t get a job is go back to school.”

E-commerce- A Driving Force for Corporates

In the 21st century, a great number of companies from United States and Europe started representing their services in the world wide web. Although the E-Commerce bacame possible in 1991, when the internet was open for the commercial use but most of the companies realised its importance in the begining of 21st century. The term E-commerce refers to the process of executing commercial transactions electronically over the internet with the help of various technologies like EDI( Electronic Data Interchange), EFT( Electronic Fund Transfer), HTML i.e. Hyper Text Mark-up Language. In simple words, we can say e-commerce is buying or selling things via internet.

Doing business over internet does not only save the time but it is also a cheaper way to establish your business having benifits to both companies as well as to the customers. The best thing of doing business electronically is that there are no issues regarding the distance like a customer who is 10,000 miles away from you can also be accessible. From the customer point of view, they have a large database of products and services to choose from on the company's websites.

E-commerce has grown rapidly from the start of 21st century till present. As we can see in the above figure, by the end of 2007, US retailers e-commerce sales accounted for 3.4 percent of their total sales. This increasing percentage of e-commerce sales shows thats its going to increase more in the coming years which is a good sign for the companies.

The first largest online retailers were Amazon and Ebay, who are the first companies to allow electronic transactions. currently there are five largest and most famous global internet retailers i.e. Amozon, Dell, Staples, Office Depot and Hewlett Packard. The company like Dell which is an Amercian company has contributed a lot to the process of E-commerce.
Dell.com was launched in 1994 with just a static page, but by the end of 1997, Dell was the first company to record a million dollars sales online. The key factor of Dell's success is that Dell.com enabled the customers to choose and to control their products i.e. customers can browse the website and assemble the PCs piece by piece according to their requirements, choice and budget.

I believe that e-commerce is a way for the businesses to penetrate rapidly and a cheaper way to enter into the global world of commerce and to compete more effectively in the global business by not only cutting down the prices but also by providing more choice of products to the customers. We will surely see some more growth in e-commerce sector in the coming years.

"Contribution of Telecomunication towards Economy"

I was reading an article today in The Economist and very surprised to know the how mbile phones are contributing towards the economy of a country. In a few years to come , mobile phones are going become tools for the economic empowerment for the world's poorest people. According to the world bank, an extra ten phones per 100 people in a typical developing country boosts the GDP growth by 0.8 percent which itself has a direct impact on the economic growth. I am surprised to find out that there are more than 4 billion handsets that are now in use world wide and three quarters of them in the developing countries.
"Banking on Mobile:
For the poor countries where there is a lack of infrastructure like bad roads and slow postal services, Mobile Banking would have a huge impact, & will be very efficient. The most successful examply of Mobile banking is M-PESA which was launched in 2007 by Safaricom in Kenya. Transfering money through the mobile is the fastest, safest and the cheaper way rather than costly bank transfers and post offices. Even there are lots of people who are using M-PESA as their savings account. The banking sector also, is not seeing mobile money as a threat but as an opportunity and are teaming up with the mobile operators.
I think in the coming years, we are going to witness this vast growing Mobile banking sector playing a significant role in the e-business.
"Please post your comments that what impact mobile banking is going to have on e-businesses.
